“Becoming the Leaning Post in Uncertain Times”
We are living in times where uncertainty seems to be the common language of the day.
What once felt stable now feels shifting. What once felt secure now feels fragile. And in the midst of it all, people are searching for answers, for peace, for something steady.
And that “something”… often becomes you.
As a leader, you don’t just navigate your own uncertainty—you become the place where the uncertainty of others comes to rest. You become the leaning post.
People lean on your strength.
They lean on your wisdom.
They lean on your faith—even in moments when you are fighting to steady your own.
This is the weight of leadership.
It is not always seen.
It is not always acknowledged.
But it is always felt.
There are moments when the pressure is silent, yet heavy. When everyone is looking to you for direction, and you are quietly seeking God for clarity. When you must stand firm publicly, while privately processing the weight of responsibility.
But hear this clearly:
You were never called to carry what only God can sustain.
Yes, you are the leaning post—but you are not the foundation.
God is.
If you are not careful, you will begin to absorb the fear, anxiety, and instability of those leaning on you. You will carry burdens that were never assigned to your spirit. And slowly, the strength people admire in you will begin to feel like strain.
That is why your posture matters.
Before you can be a place of stability for others, you must remain anchored yourself.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear.”
Psalm 46:1–2 (KJV)
Your strength does not come from having all the answers.
It comes from knowing the One who does.
In uncertain times, leadership is not about perfection, it is about presence.
It is about remaining rooted when everything around you feels uprooted.
It is about carrying peace, not pressure.
So, as people lean on you,
make sure you are leaning on God.
Let Him be your place of rest.
Let Him be your clarity in confusion.
Let Him be your strength when yours feels depleted.
Because the truth is this:
You can only hold others up effectively when you are held up by Him.
This April, don’t just embrace the weight,
steward it well.
